Well we made it thru 2012 and the world didn’t end.  2013 is looking to be even better.  It’s only the first of the year and plans are well underway for Field Day 2013 and the Mon Valley Century which is scheduled for August 11th and promises to be even better than last year.
The 147.225 repeater is up and is sounding great with a new Station Master antenna and controller. But there is still much to be done at the repeater site this year.  Still to come are improvements to the controller and a emergency back-up power system, something that’s been need and in the plans for awhile is going to be coming online as soon as the weather improves in the spring.
We have started having a club breakfast, once a month members and nonmembers get together for a informal breakfast at different restaurants around the Mon Valley.  Keep an eye on your email or check the events calendar for dates, time and location.
The web site is always a work in progress that we are continually working to update and improve. The members page is still being worked on to make it more user friendly and easier to add and update new and current members.
Don't forget about the Echolink node.  It's now available 24/7 and has been getting quite a bit of use.  It can be accessed from your home computer or smart phone, just enter the node number 544643 or wb3ccn-r, its that simple to access the 147.225 repeater from anywhere you have an Internet connection.  Hopefully in the near future you will be able to link to other repeaters across the country by using a touch-tone pad on your radio or hand held.
The Monessen Amateur Radio Club is located in Monessen, PA. The club currently has over 65 members.
